Update on our Dossier

I have some exciting news about our adoption. We are moving on to the next phase in the adoption process called the waiting period. On July 28 I was able to mail in all of our paperwork, also called our Dossier, to the adoption agency along with the $5,000 that goes along with it!! This is a major step in our adoption, because that is the end of our paper chase!! So now what is the big question. Currently our Dossier is in Washington DC first it will go to the US Embassy and get authenticated, then it goes to the Rwandan Embassy and get some more authenticating done to it. This could take 2-4 weeks to get done. We will at some point get an e-mail from the Rwandan Embassy with a fed ex tracking number and we will be able to track our Dossier as it travels to Rwanda!! Once the Dossier goes to Rwanda it will go to the Ministry of Family and gender services and will be added to a huge stack of other Dossier. There it will wait for 9-11 months. So yes it is still a long road to Rwanda, but we are moving slow and steady. While we wait I would ask all of you to pray with me for the Ministry so that they will be able to develop an efficient and effective method for processing Dossiers. Thank you so much for all your prayers and support.

  1. WE are at the exact same point. Our family coordinator confirmed last week that it's still at the Rwanda Embassy and she'd let us know when it was sent to Rwanda! Praying for DTR very soon for both our families!
